About Loon Tokens
A community currency, built in Minneapolis, for Minneapolis.
How This Started
During Operation Metro Surge, when armed and masked agents occupied the Twin Cities, Minneapolis responded by delivering groceries, driving people to work and school, organizing, communicating, and keeping their communities intact. These people inspired others around the world to fight back and come together.
The work continues today. The national media has moved on, but Minneapolis small businesses, schools, and people still struggle to get by.
Loon tokens recognize mutual aid workers. Those funds circulate through local shops and businesses. Anyone can leave at any time or pass the support forward.

Who We Are
We are your neighbors. Our families live here, our kids go to school here, our dogs play in the parks. We love the Minneapolis coffee shops, bars, stores, farmers markets, lakes, schools, trails, theaters, art, music, humor, pride, and eccentricities.
We love the State Fair, the Wedge Cat Tour, the Lake of the Isles Pencil, the Kite Festival, the Art Sleds, the Art Shanties, and the May Day Parade.
We are currently Ann, Paul, and Bennett, but we are growing.
